I Tipu Ake Au I Tenei Tau 2020

In class we have been reflecting on our year.

I looked at the goals I set at the beginning of the year. Then I had to think about whether I have achieved my goal or not. My goal was to learn more Te Reo Maori.

My goal was to learn more te reo, whaea taught us ko te pu, she showed us two new learning sites, afed and EP. I also play other maori games like, pukana, paku, etc, with the class. We also learnt waiata like e te iwi e, and ka pioioi e. I want to learn more te reo when I'm adult age like 20 or something like that.

I also reflected on my favorite and least favorite mahi. Check out my reflection slides.

What's your favorite and least favorite mahi that you've done this year? I'd love to see your responses, thank you for reading my blog post.

I recolored an old masterpiece.

Today in Cybersmart I learnt about Summer Learning Journey, we had to recolor old art from a website called Art Coloring Book because that's apart of Summer Learning Journey. In Art Coloring Journey we had lots of old art to color but I picked the Egyptian art I guess you can look at above. The art I chose is 1279 BC, I chose it because it appears Egyptian what do you think?.

The Fantastic Purpose Of A Blog Post.

Last week me and my class was learning about the purpose of a blog post. Now I know that the three purposes of a blog post is: to teach others, to share my knowledge and to get some feedback.

It was fun to make! The characters are cute! And it's nice, sorta. But I could've made the characters a little smaller and the speech boxes cause it looks too wordy or much, and inside it makes me uncomfortable but, other then that it's great!

Have you done this before? What would you rate it? Let me know in the comments below.

Magnificent book clubs.

Hello and this week I have been doing book clubs.

Book clubs are when the teachers put out some interesting books (there are copies of them underneath) and you get to choose which one you get to read for the week, whoever else picks that book is in your group and you have to work with them for the week.

The teacher will give you a booklet which you will do most of the work in, then you have to get a ticket which you have to fill out. You will have to figure out how many pages a day you have to read in a week and read that many pages. While you read you have to fill out your ticket, for example one of the things you have to fill out: Figurative Language.

The book I am currently reading is called, "Rising Tide". Rising Tide is about a boy named Ari McInnis, and he thinks he's just an ordinary kid. Ari likes it that he thinks that he's just a ordinary kid but, he's got some secrets he doesn't wanna spill to anyone. But something is threatening to tell his secrets.

Here's a photo of the book, the booklet I am currently working on and a ticket completed by me.

Have you been in a book club before? If so, what is your favorite job?

Thank you for reading my blog! :D

My Amazing, Awesome Dream Room.

WALT: Find the Area and Perimeter of different shapes.

Today I created my dream room. Then I calculated the area and perimeter for all the furniture/objects in my room.

Check it out!

Find the perimeter and area.

WALT. Find the perimeter and area of different shapes.

Perimeter is the distance around the outside of a shape.

The formula for perimeter/to find perimeter, you add up all the lengths of the sides. Area is the space inside a shape. What is the formula to find area, Length x Width = Area. Vise versa.

I measured a carpet square. The perimeter was 60 centimeters, the area was 625? (I times d 5 x 5 then 25 x 25 and I ended up with 625

I enjoyed doing work on perimeter. When it came to area it became difficult, I couldn’t move onto the next shape, because on perimeter, it was easy because we could add up all the sides together but area, we had to times it and I had a hard time getting the answer.

Have you ever measured something?
Thank you for reading this blog post.

Nga Tohu Huarere Mo Apopo.

Saying what the weather is in Te Reo Maori.

Firstly I picked out places either in the north island or the south.
Then I got my Poutama reo book and started writing. I had to write down rima sentences, for example one of the places I picked was Ahuriri (Napier)

the challenging parts were, spelling the maori weather kupu and putting some of the places I have chosen into sentences.

What I could have done better in my weather report video was:

Speak a little louder.

Keep eye contact with the camera the whole video, or bits of the video.

Practice before a little bit so I could’ve made the video a little bit shorter than the original video.

Sound a little more confident or sound stronger.

What did you enjoy about my weather report?

Could I have done something different in my weather report?

Thank you for reading my blog post.

Come Take A Peek At This Fantastic Maramataka Blog Post.

Yesterday we learnt about Moon phases as a part of our maramataka study.
First I decided what Moon phases mahi I would do. Next, I planned out a simple sketch as a plan for the real deal.
I got my pencil and book and I started my work with the date and the title, “Moon Phases” and proceeded to sketch out a similar plan to the example on the table. And by Thursday I was finished.

I thought hard about being by myself or getting help from someone else.

The moment I most enjoyed while working on my Moon phases work was when me and my
partner Zyah were tracing the moons and gluing them onto the sheet of black paper.

What did you enjoy most about my blog post??
Do you know anything about maramataka?

I thank you for spending your time reading my blog post.
